Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing

The Encounter
-Linda Lee Lyberg
Your eyes beckoned to me, begging, pleading
To be loved the way I wanted to love.
So in that moment
That briefest of moments
When I saw that glint of a tear
I knew I would always
Want you near me
For you were someone so rare.
A heart pure and good
A soul understanding
The needs of a woman so lost
A woman who needed but would never demand
A love that was beyond cost.
You reached out to me
With your eyes so tender
And gave all you had to give
So in that moment
This woman surrendered
And opened her heart
Began to live.
