Attraction
-Linda Lee Lyberg
And now she must endeavor
To accept the brutal fact
That their love was never real
But only a physical attraction
Although her heart did feel
But he was simply repeating
The same song, second verse
His love was always fleeting
For his lust was a bitter curse
His troubled soul was in the dark
On how to love with conviction
The piece of lead found its mark
And freed him from his affliction.

An unexpected end. An easy release for him. Where does that leave her? Just curious.

It leaves her always wondering WHY. A question that will never be answered, at least in this lifetime.

Exactly. And the fodder of another poem. Or more.

Yes, so there’s that. 🙂

It has been for many, and I suspect will continue to be. Funny how one moment in time can define your whole life, change it forever.
