I think that if ever a mortal heard the voice of God it would be in a garden at the cool of the day. ” (from A Garden of Peace) — F. Frankfort Moore
In The Garden With God
-Linda Lee Lyberg
By the beauty of the rose.
In harmony the rustling leaves
By the beauty of the rose
For nature gently weaves.
In harmony the rustling leaves
Suffused with their colors pure
Suffused with their colors pure
In the garden with God.

In The Garden is one of my favorite hymns. He definitely walked with me during this coming week a year ago 🙂

A year ago on July 25th, I had open heart surgery to repair an ascending aortic aneurysm and replace a leaking aortic valve. I was in the cardiovascular intensive care unit for 5 days and the coronary care unit for 2 days. They kept my longer in ICU because my heart kept going in and out of Afib.

Beautful! Both the picture and the words.
Reminds me of the classic hymn “In the Garden”:
“I come to the garden alone,
While the dew is still on the roses,
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.”
Your poem also brought back to mind a post I wrote a while ago but had forgotten about: “Soul Spring Magic”.

By the way, where do you find all these beautiful and interesting pictures?

Thanks for sharing- I recall that song. This particular photo is from Deposit Photos. I also get photos from Pixabay and Unsplash. There is a link after most posts at the bottom for graphics. I will check out your poem!

I just read your post- Beautiful. I think so many of us don’t take the time to really SEE the world in all it’s intricate beauty and know his hand is at work.

Thanks. And I totally agree. I never feel closer to God than when I am just relaxing in the middle of nature and letting it’s beauty wash over me.

This made me think of my mother, whose favorite hymn was “I Come to the Garden” and a little sign she had in her garden which said “One is nearer God’s heart in the garden, than anywhere else on earth”.

To me God and Nature are one and the same. A most reverent sentiment, Linda, thanks for sharing with dVerse.
