Roland the paladin rode his steed
Into the dark stormy night
Forging on, paying no heed
For he knew he must win the fight.

 
Into the dark stormy night
He rode to honor Charlemagne
Knowing he must win this fight
For the king to continue to reign.

 
He rode to honor Charlemagne
In Saragossa, the Spanish city
For the king to continue to reign
He must show the enemy no pity.

 
In Saragossa, the Spanish city
Forging on, paying no heed
He must show the enemy no pity
Roland the paladin rode his steed.
