Weathered
-Linda lee Lyberg
I’ve done my best to forever remember
Each line on your weathered face
Your delicate hands soft and tender
The beauty of your southern grace

Each line on your weathered face
A road map of your troubled life
The beauty of your southern grace
A smile showing no signs of strife

A road map of your troubled life
But you were never one to complain
A smile showing no signs of strife
No matter how much anguish and pain

But you were never one to complain
Your delicate hands soft and tender
No matter how much anguish and pain
I’ve done my best to forever remember

  1. Pantoum has a way of opening itself to deep reflection and that is so apparent here. If there is personal loss here I am sorry for it but what a beautiful way to hold space for those feelings.

  2. This was special for me today, because today would have been my mother’s 91st birthday, but she died almost 30 years ago. I have mixed feelings remembering her.

Also, I’m glad you found a fellow “Linda Lee” in the blogging world. 🙂
