Stone
-Linda Lee Lyberg

Your name
Lays on my tongue

Like a river stone
My words rushing
Over, around, and beyond
Until at last, once roughhewn
Raw, jagged edges
Now smooth as glass
With the crawling passing of time
May allow me to speak it again
And feel nothing.
