Bleeding roses for Passion

Love and Roses

A rose can smell so sweet
Yet cut you like a knife
Its thorns will pierce deep
And rob you of your life
 

And love is like a rose
With the first full bloom
On your heart it will impose
and cloak impending doom

 
But once the flower fades
It leaves within its wake
A lost game of charades
A thirst you cannot slake

 
One tiny thorny prick
A harsh word is all it takes
To make your soul feel sick
And cause your heart to ache
