Ode to the Sun

And there arose a cri de coeur
high atop the tallest trees
songbirds begging to the sun
Wash away grey winter’s haze
with your brilliant hot light
and we will sing of your praise
from dawn until moon’s light
We love to bask in your warmth
preening our quills all the while
You light up the day with your grace
And make us all sing and smile.
