This Body

This body in deep protest
engraved with pain
remembrances of love
that fills the air
in her dark room
with no walls
to confine her agony.

She lives
alone with her mementoes
etched on her in flagrant
black and colors subdued.
In her dark moments

with poignant

She is in love
with love,
above and below

But love, you see, with its profound

She waits with certainty
that somehow someday, someway
love will not forsake her.
She breathes life into her fantasy.

This is the life she has chosen.
