Paper and Lead

notebook-2247352_1920
With paper and lead
writing thoughts left unsaid
broken loves, angel’s wings
fractured hearts
mystical
beings.

Waiting for my muse
to entertain, to abstain,
to caress, to regress
to slap my brain
with true
intent.
The acrid grief from death as it
breathes down my neck
taking what I love
giving nothing back
but the bitterest
torrent of
tears.
Imagining my tempestuous desire,
passionate fantasies fill my head
Igniting my body and soul
Leaving both sated
drained and
spent.
Searching for the perfect twist
of words, words, words
in this endless quest
to understand
the universe
myself
God.

Paul hosted dVerse Thursday with the interesting theme of the Ars  Poetica.

A term meaning “the art of poetry,” an Ars Poetica poem expresses the poet’s aims for poetry and/or the poet’s theories about poetry.
