Smooth

Life’s retrospection
collected like smooth pebbles
from a riverbed
I lay on the grassy shore
listening to soft lapping

as my memories
take me on a sweet journey
reaping the moments
that shaped me into who I
am today, forever

 

altered, rearranged
a once pliant and sweet girl
now a strong woman
gleaning thoughts all her own
collecting her river stones.
