The Sound of Flying

In my dreams he doesn’t speak yet somehow I hear his words
I know I hurt you when I left but I had no other choice
because you see my love I had to decide, it was you or me.
I didn’t want to be the one to clip your fragile wings
so you could not take flight and I knew if I stayed
I would with a bitter certainty, try.
Then he’s gone with only the silence his words have bestowed
leaving me trembling and lost when the cage in my mind opens,
I spread my perfect wings as a silent breeze takes hold,
lifting me high as though I always knew what I must do.

Very romantic in a different way! I think we always know what we must do in life’s situations. ☺💛

Though it has a sad end with the parting, the possibilities of that flight are endless ~ Soar high as we can~

A beautiful piece Linda. I love the picture as well. It goes so well with your words. Choices to live with the silence can be very difficult. Fly high and touch the sky!

Love the story this creates. The cage of the mind is limiting.

I think that sometimes a parting is better in the end.
