Tender Notes

Together we were a thousand tears falling in the starry universe
tempting sweet flowers to bloom, and songbirds to croon
You thought my spirit’s tune was the melody your soul needed
but then one day the music died, was never heard again
I searched for you who stole my song, but you were gone…
And I am left bereft, yearning for the tender notes we played.
