As fiery sun sinks low in bronze tinted sky
a rush and flurry of wings take flight
when the earth takes a breath, heaves a sigh
Time to rest as nature prepares for night

 
A rush and flurry of wings take flight
amid soft whispers of shuffling leaves
time to rest as nature prepares for night
while swallows find roost under warm eaves

 

Amid soft whispers of shuffling leaves
rabbits scurry away to sheltered nests
while swallows find roost under warm eaves
a horned owl screeches ere its nightly quest

 

Rabbits scurry away to sheltered nests
when the earth takes a breath, heaves a sigh
a horned owl screeches ere it’s nightly quest
as fiery sun sinks low in bronze tinted sky
