Deep Space

The poetarian peered at the matte obsidian sky and,
defying earth’s gravity, with wings she began to glide
Soaring through the universe, amazing sights she did see
black holes, red Mars, blue nebula, and ancient galaxies
Her mind took in all the wonders of majestic deep space
she wanted to recall every detail of this colorful place
All at once, the dream eluded her
as she landed with a jarring thud
she was back, earthbound and planted
in the dull greyed dirt and murky mud
