Godspeed

Though friends may come into your life in moments when you’re happy and gay
The friends that come when you’re in need are those that tend to stay
For they are the ones who understand that life is about giving to others
And in truth we are one, for we are all sisters and brothers

So come my friends, let’s cheer in the winter of our lives
Come and raise a hearty glass with smiles softened by age
Come Rejoice to all, Godspeed as we turn the calendar page!

  1. I had an old preacher friend, who now has died, that would bring a bouquet of dead flowers to the hospital when he visited. Dunno?? I can feel the friends’ appreciation when we pray with them when they are troubled and/or ill. While visiting we can play Job, and just be with them when they don’t really like small talk.
