Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
All that remains is the sweet perfume of rose
Before delicate pink petals withered and fell
Upon my barren heart the blossom imposed
An attar of remembrance cloaked in your smell
Before delicate pink petals withered and fell
The scent was a delightful enchantment to me
Now in its cherished fragrance I’ll forever dwell
For the enduring aroma reminds me of thee
The scent was a delightful enchantment to me
An aromatic bouquet complex yet smooth
For the enduring aroma reminds me of thee
So my lonely soul is now at rest and soothed
An aromatic bouquet complex yet smooth
Upon my barren heart the blossom imposed
So my lonely soul is now at rest and soothed
And all that remains is the sweet perfume of rose

The repetition in this form works so well, layering the whole poem with fragrances. Wonderful! Is this a pantoum?

Beautiful but sad as I read in it that he had lost her.
