Author’s Note: Having been born and raised in Houston, Texas, Shiner Bock was my favorite beer. In 1994 I moved to Philadelphia and there was not a Shiner in sight. I met my future husband in Philly, and he asked me to marry him. I told him you find me a Shiner Bock in this state, and you have a deal. Lo and behold, he found 5 bottles of Shiner Bock at the Balligomingo Inn in West Conshohocken. So I married him, and that was almost 23 years ago come this September!
