Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
Autumn treads in wearing silk slippers
made of emerald green and gold
King of all seasons this,
as a rich tapestry unfolds
in a wealth of brilliant jeweled colors
sparkling in the sun on rolling hills.
Majestic noble trees are now dressed
in a lush display of finery, their best
with crowning touches of nature’s palette
sunbaked orange, terra cotta, and marigold.
Feasting our eyes on a plump harvest moon
we get drunk on its sparkling wine
and bask in the royal gilded light
savoring fall evenings fresh and cool
for soon the ice princess will arrive.

Lovely personification, and that personfication leads on to such lovely metaphors. I had a pre-Raphaelite painting going on in my head.
