Can we pretend it didn’t happen
this slow erosion of our cherished love?
Can we suspend the chilling moment
when two hearts no longer beat in tune?
–Imagine, it’s only us for one minute–
With the radiant stars in our eyes,
when our breath breathes life into each other
Familiar arms embrace, as tender pulses race
having found that brilliant flash of desire once again
