Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
Tiny seeds lie in wait for spring
As gentle rains soak mother earth
In budding trees, mockingbirds sing
While the seeds lie in wait for spring
Butterflies emerge, taking wing
When the land prepares for rebirth
Tiny seeds lie in wait for spring
As gentle rains soak mother earth

Oh how I love the photo you used, the seed with its little casing cap. I like the gentle nature of your triolet. The seeds wait and know when to make their appearance.

I love the feel of your poem with the seeds underground pushing to come forth as soon as the sun shines and warms them.

Hi Linda, Like this piece. A challenge to all of us, can we write a poem a poem about spring without using “rebirth”? What metaphor could communicate this without needing that word?

Interesting question. I suppose one could if you are not using a strict rhyme form like the Triolet.
