Shadows on Garden Walls

My Garden- Mesa, AZ

“Outside the open window

The morning air is all awash with angels.”

― Richard Wilbur, Collected Poems, 1943-2004

Dawn’s glimmer casts dancing shadows on garden walls
rousing song birds from peaceful night’s slumber
taking abrupt wing, they sing to rays of golden light
welcoming a hopeful morn, as minutes start anew
with each rising of healing sun another day begun

Morning zephyr caresses my cheek as I stroll
through my untamed garden searching for peace
praying to divinity to heal this diseased soul
I breathe fresh elixir of nature, oh sweet relief
and find the courage to continue on dwelling within
