Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
“Life moves very fast. It rushes from Heaven to Hell in a matter of seconds.”
― Paulo Coelho
Is this how it ends-
This ripping away of wings leaving
naught but two scrawny plumes and no way to soar?
Alone in the desert, left; a forgotten soul
thrown asunder with a rolling clap of thunder
tainted veiled innocence
An outcast angel fallen from grace
with no place to go, least of all heaven’s
luminous gates for no one waits
So all that’s left in this state
is a one way entrance to hell
where my unclean soul will thrive
eating myself alive from inside

There is a starkness to the image where I could see it leading to a dark place. I feel so bad for this person!

The image can lead to darkness or light for sure. Your poem is stunning and is gripping. Yes it is dark but it gave me goosebumps!! Amazing writing Linda! Thank you for joining us this week at the Muse!

I really like where the picture took you, especially the idea of that outcast angel, fallen from grace. I also love that you wrote it during Jackson’s nap. LOL. A doting mom.

Lovely poetry … I tried, truly I did, to go to that dark place. The bunions got in the way.
