Refuge

Beneath sheltering trees
red rose lips touch mine
as a curious mockingbird sings
to gentle falling rain

In our secluded refuge
there is no lingering pain
only you and me again
as we savor lush ruby wine
and lie in a bed of leaves

  1. Wonderful use of sound in the first stanza, Linda, and what a lovely place to savour wine. 😉 I love the photograph – so green.
