Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
Scarlet letters emblazoned on her skin
carried on opium winds of righteousness
forsaking all moral fortitude
Blinded by an azure grey- smoke sky
religious zealots are always the first
to throw black stones into her eyes
yet who among them are sinless?
With restless grace she remains detached
unwilling to give up or give in
but instead unfurls her fragile wings
and rises above their putrid sins
She looks down on them from on high
forgives them with a melancholy sigh
and swiftly floats away on a restless wind

I am glad her fragile wings have risen above. She deserves better and truly her wings are strong. A beautiful poem Linda. I got my second vaccine Friday and it really made me feel cruddy. So glad it is over with. 🙏

Feminism has done plenty for the rising above of women but the shame and guilt sticks.

Oh WOW, Lynda, I like where your muse took you with this one. The shame and guilt sticks to those who judge and criticize, IMHO.
