Tap,tap,tap
My heart drumming
Beating with ferocity
Filling me with anxiety
Clouding my head with all the ‘what ifs’
Long deep breaths to slow the pounding beat
Promising myself that whatever comes,
I will meet it with the same intensity and win

Author’s Note: Dear All- This is a poem I wrote in June 2020. Last year on this same day, I faced a difficult challenge (diagnosed with breast cancer June 15, 2020), and today I am faced with another- an abdominal hysterectomy. I will be hospitalized for 2-3 days. Asking for positive vibes, prayers, and healing light sent my way if you so desire. Peace and love to you all- Linda Lee Lyberg
