Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
“Hark, now hear the sailors cry,
Smell the sea, and feel the sky,
Let your soul & spirit fly, into the mystic. Into the Mystic”
― Van Morrison, Lit Up Inside: Selected Lyrics
I long to be next to the sea
as autumn breeze whispers through trees
and shadows dance with falling leaves
I long to breath the salty air
with toes in sand going nowhere
as shore birds take flight, soaring free
I long to feel crisp chill of fall
wrapped tight in my blue tattered shawl
while listening to precious peace
I long to dream with windows wide
covered head to toe, here I’ll hide
in your arms where no one can see

Fall always seems a time of melancholy. There’s such yearning here–and you made me want to go to the beach.

Lovely: That nostalgia for the sea and your poem. But you’ll be find nicely hidden where you’re hiding. The beach will be there.

I would love to be closer to the real sea, I have the sea within 10-minute walk, but it’s the brackish Baltic Sea, and it’s far to the ocean.

You captured the longing for the sea… and the mood of that wonderful song.
