Ascend to rebirth

Amber gold sun blinds stars

Vanquishes black night.

Carpe Diem #1295 Bowl of Night

Author’s Note: Chèvrefeuille has introduced us to
“The Rubaiyat” by Omar Khayyam, a Persian (nowdays Iranian) poet and scholar.
Here’s the first quatrain of “The Rubaiyat”: Translated by Edward FitzGerald.

AWAKE! For Morning in the Bowl of Night
Has flung the Stone that puts the Stars to Flight:
And lo! the Hunter of the East has caught
The Sultan’s Turret in a Noose of Light.

And an alternate translation:
Wake! For the Sun, who scattered into flight
The Stars before him from the Field of Night,
Drives Night along with them from Heaven, and strikes
The Sultan’s Turret with a Shaft of Light.

This is my interpretation.
