The Stars Are Prisoners In Your Eyes

For the stars they are prisoners in your eyes
While luscious lips hold me a captive
Our dancing shadows in gold candlelight
In your warm arms, I am enraptured
While luscious lips hold me a captive
And that which I give to sacrifice
In your warm arms I am enraptured
Gladly paying the ultimate price
And that which I give to sacrifice
All worldly treasures that I may own
Gladly paying the ultimate price
Take my flesh, my blood, and bone
All worldly treasures that I may own
Our dancing shadows in candlelight
Take my flesh, my blood and bone
For the stars they are prisoners in your eyes

Not to do a pun but that last stanza is stellar. So full of passion and what an incredible closing line. Wonderful.

Thank you Lynda. As a warning about my most frequent posts: I am writing a lot about suicide. I lost two dear friends to it this past June within two weeks of it. I am grieving and going through the process of forgiving them and myself. Just a heads up.

Thank you Toni. I did read yours and commented. It’s a subject that I can’t avoid, and I have learned to cope over these many years.

This is so beautiful. Love, especially fresh, new love, is certainly willing to sacrifice all.

You know… I need to break out the candles – I do love their flickering light.
