ah! morning glories
are at their best while I chant
my morning prayers

greeting the first golden light
tendrils creeping over fence
orange throated trumpets
tempting flitting hummingbirds
sweet scent of nectar
Wilting purple petals fade
in the midst of hot sun’s rays
