Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
Is it black or white
that which fades from sight
Between
what is wrong or right
cloaked in graphite night
Unseen
but in crystal light
tempting with delight
Enraged lovers fight
run away in spite
a scream
when passion holds tight
overtakes with might
extreme
that which fades from sight
Is it black or white

I like this one, Linda. I think it works well, in rhythm and rhyme, which is quite an achievement!

Ah those varying shades of grey, every time. I like the rhythm to this, Linda. The subject works for the form.

A classic Lai, nicely done. I still prefer to change the AA rhyme schemes for the variety and spice; but that’s just me.

Nice sound in your lai nouveau. I liked the question in the two main lines.

Lovely refrain, with a story in the middle too. I really liked the way this flows smoothly Linda.

I like the flow, rhyme, and the repeated question in this, Linda. There is often much in that in-between area. Well done!

This reads quite smoothly for a Lai Linda. Not as forced and herk-jerk as many I have read. Not certain what it means, but it reads comfortably! Good job! 🙂

These Lai lines have worked out well for you and I think you have got the right lines for the ending. So lais aren’t just black or white but can be just right!
