Shades of Blue, No. 2

Slipping from my weary soul
this grey cloak of disease
Lost within, body riddled with pain
I struggle to regain my sense of worth, of purpose

After fighting for my life, spirit now reborn
For I am whole again, blanketed in shades of blue

  1. Now that you’ve thrown off the gray cloak and can rest in blue for a bit, you’ll soon be lifted into warm skies, Linda. So much said in your poem. Glad you’ve thrown that cloak off ❤

  3. Felt like you were writing about me — “the grey cloak of disease” – something I know well too from experience, but to see it transmuted to new life, blanketed in shades of blue: what a lovely hope and promise! Love this poem, Linda.

  4. This is so moving and powerful. I am so pleased to read of your spirit being reborn after the trials of illness, though the ‘shades of blue’ remain.

It certainly gives a nice feeling. The ‘spirits reborn ‘ can lead to many positive episodes. Nicely crafted Linda!
