footprints of time age
my ancient wrinkled body-
under the oak tree
acorns fall into dead leaves
come spring, bursting forth with life

The oak tree appears as wizened and wise to me from this poem.

This is really in keeping with the Japanese tradition as far as I understand it: using imagery from nature as a metaphor for death and, in this case, rebirth – great take on the prompt!
