Musings on Life, Love, and Linguine-Poetry & Writing
Everyday, I read my poems to you,
and you, my faithful companion
long ears pushed forward, listened earnestly
as if you understood every nuance
of emotions revealed, even those left unspoken
And while my soliloquy drifted through the air
you lay your head upon my lap, closed your eyes
breathing in my fanciful ramblings
and the words came alive with every breath
and gentle rise and fall of your furry chest
You were the one who understood
At times, even more than I
how tiny insignificant moments
become the things we remember best
and hold ever closer to our breast.

NO ONE understands us as well as our furry companions – they are all heart, all intuition, and they read our moods so well. Sigh. I love the image of him listening intently to your poems, then, eyes closed, with his head on your lap – feeling so grateful to be yours. Sigh.
