If You Go

If you go I’ll be wondering
What might have been had you stayed,
This lonely heart, thrown asunder
From emptiness created

My lips, missing your tender kisses
My skin, yearning for your caress
My eyes, blinded by glorious moments
Gazing upon your handsome face

  1. A lovely pondering on the road that might yet be taken – so much to miss as the 2nd verse shows
P.S. Is the painting by Schiel – his passion always looks carnal to the point of carnivorous

  2. You have my heart with this stunning love poem, Linda! 💝💝 I especially adore the image; “My lips, missing your tender kisses,”… that is a gradual path toward intimacy.

  3. A beautiful love quadrille, Linda, and you’ve complemented it with an image by one of my favourite artists, Egon Schiele! I’ve seen his work close up and personal in Vienna and, some years ago, I attended an exhibition of his erotica in London – incredible!
