Sanctuary for Dreams

“Good food is a benign weapon against the sodden way we live.”- Jim Harrison

This bright room is one she never tires of
Where the tastes of the world are at her fingertips
Happiness packed in square glass jars
Exotic spices from India, Mexico, Indonesia
Her kitchen, a sanctuary for dreams
Where she gets lost in her seasonings.

  1. Excellent quadrille Linda. I found you perspective on the word season to be most effective. The joy of spice, like on Arrakis. 🙂✌🏼❤️

  2. My son is the seasonings guru in the family–and as in this poem that gift for taste brings shelter and sustenance that goes beyond mere nutrition.

  3. Brings memories, Linda
We were at Abi Dabu I think, and stopped at a spice store. Our sales person after Mrs. Jim had purchased a small jar of safron gave her a small tin box of small chocolates made using camel milk. They were very good.
