And I pray comforting autumn’s light
will keep the smoke grey winter away
brilliant colors dance as swallows take flight
on this brisk cool cornucopia colored day.
But I know too soon winter will come calling
leaving frost on pumpkins, as snow begins falling.

‘There came a time of pestilence and ruin, when greed ruled the land.’
– Linda Lee Lyberg
And the innocents of the earth rose up, and cried out with a powerful roar,
There must be peace, there must be green, there must be oceans of blue and fish to swim in clear cold streams.
There must be lush emerald forests for us to explore, and stone snow capped mountains to climb,
There must be a pearl moon in the sky, and a warm sun that still shines for generations to come,
There must be balance restored.

What secret language do the reindeer speak
when tender autumn hovers, trembling
hanging in frost edged grey dawn air
a foreshadowing of frigid cold to come.
Frosted copper leaves have fallen
the towering trees stripped bare
for brittle winter ice is coming
so they hover ever closer together
as the first delicate flakes float free.

Imaginary Garden with Real Toads: Art Flash/55 in November

Burrow
down to the depths
the tomb of hell awaits
gaping mouths, hungry for lost souls
fresh blood
hot flesh, tainted from sin and greed
feast of the seven sins
ripe and ready
to eat.
