Plight of the Rose

Your memory is a wilting rose
Fraught with cold moonlight
Red petals weep in silent repose
Mourning its soul’s fated plight.
Fraught with the cold moonlight
When I ponder the rose’s demise
Mourning its soul’s fated plight
As the dropping petals cry.
When I ponder the rose’s demise
In the stillness of a wintry eve
As the dropping petals cry
I finally let go and grieve.
In the stillness of a wintry eve
Red petals weep in silent repose
I finally let go and grieve
Your memory is a wilting rose.

Great rhyme scheme and repetitious phrases help to deepen the poem!
