On a Wing and a Prayer

Dancing on a tightrope of dreams and reality
Tap, tap, tapping on a thin graphite beam
Where everything and nothing is as it seems

Blinded by wispy veils of silken hair
Swirling in a stubborn stormy breeze
Wearing old hurts and deep painful scars
Crying with remorse for fallen dead leaves
Perched high between birdsong and shooting stars
Alive and breathing on a wing and a prayer

  1. WOW! Such a strong and beautiful poem here, the perfect balance on a tightrope of emotions. Hope, remorse, poignancy, it’s really amazing how you communicate these elements in verse. Brilliant writing, as always. I resonate it with it as well.
